The Paint
YOLO Colorhouse paint is zero-VOC with no carcinogens, formaldehyde, or other toxic substances. Over the lifetime of a painted wall these compounds are released into the air and can contribute to serious health effects. See the EPA’s page on indoor air quality. By eliminating these potentially harmful chemical’s from their paint, YOLO can help improve the indoor air quality of your home.
The Colors
The wide varieties of shades and hues available at paint stores can make the process of choosing a palette for a room difficult. The two artists who started YOLO Colorhouse, have limited the selection to three collections of gorgeous colors that you can always be sure will match. These are also available in Flat, Eggshell, or Semi-gloss sheens depending on where you are painting. If you can’t find a color to your liking among YOLO’s collections, Olive Branch is capable of matching and mixing any other color you may have in mind.
The Company
Since 2005 YOLO Colorhouse has been on a mission to make the best paint possible, while trying to minimize their environmental impact. This extends beyond their paint to their whole operation. Monitoring their own carbon footprint, YOLO discovered the majority of their greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions were from the transportation of the paint, up to 67%. By trying to ship as much as possible by rail and partnering with trucking companies that use biodiesel, YOLO can help reduce the environmental impact of their business from the factory to your home.
